All Cats Go To Heaven
Chapter 5: Let Me Be Surprised, Will You?

"Uuuurngh..."

Felix groaned as he had just stirred, only to find himself sitting up on the white clouds.

"Where am I?" he asked as he looked around...only to hear a melodic voice.

"This is the Great Hall of Judgement," said voice rang as someone walked over to him. It was a female lilac cat, dressed in a purple dress, white pants and magenta-colored high heels. Her hair was done in a ponytail.

"Judgement? Who are you?" Felix asked.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Blaze the Cat, but just call me Blaze," said the lilac cat. "Oh, and not to worry, Felix. You'll go to heaven. All cats go to heaven because unlike humans, they are friendly creatures."

"Mmhmm, that's true," Felix nodded.

"Welcome to doing whatever you please," Blaze started to sing.

"This is a truly beautiful place you have here," Felix murmured.

"Eating what you wish," Blaze kept singing, prior to leading Felix into heaven. "Follow me to a constant different climate, we keep it 73 degrees --"

"We're still on Fahrenheit here," Felix interrupted.

"That's fine with me," Blaze stated.

"Welcome to...what?" Felix gasped. "Oh boy!"

"To order and calming state," Blaze sang.

"Woo-hoo!" Felix cheered.

"Welcome to being dead," Blaze kept singing.

"Say WHAT?!" Felix gasped in horror, as his excitement had just died down. "You mean that I'm-I'm?"

"Stone cold, I'm afraid," Blaze sighed sadly.

"I can't believe it!" Felix squeaked, still in shock. "I've been murdered!"

"I'm having trouble finding kindness in here, but let's see," Blaze stated.

"He killed me!" Felix insisted, now angry about what Pete had done to him.

"I beg your pardon?" Blaze asked, completely confused.

"There's been a mistake having been made here!" Felix scoffed...and then began to sing.

"I don't want to die, you've got the wrong guy. I have been betrayed by that slimy rat. Actually that rat was a cat but his car ran me down. I just got out of jail, I just got back in town," Felix sang as the small angels came and put a long, white gown (as well as golden wings and matching halo) on him.

"Umm, this is hard to explain," Blaze muttered.

"Can I speak to the Superior because I don't want to die?" Felix asked.

"Welcome to doing whatever you please," Blaze sang.

"You got the wrong guy!" Felix complained.

"Laughing and singing all day --" Blaze sang.

"My time's not even up yet!" Felix whined.

"Oh, it is," Blaze sighed. "There's no mistake about it. We know everything. Sorry about that."

"Murdered in the prime of my life," Felix hissed. "Damn that Pete! I will kill him!"

Well, as he started to rip the wings off of himself and then throw them away, the small angels escorted him into the place where you can see lots of watches to boot.

"Hey! This must be the watch department, eh?" Felix wondered prior to taking off  and then discarding his gown and halo.

"Well, you may call it that. You see, this watch is your life and it stopped," Blaze explained.

"Well, can't you just wind it up or something?" Felix demanded as he stared at the beautiful-looking silver pocket watch with the red ribbon that was suspending it.

"Send you back?" Blaze asked. "No can do. No one's ever allowed to go back. Just put your paw right here."

"What's that for?" Felix asked, confused, as he curiously examined the watch.

"It's for the book of records," Blaze explained. "You see everything about you that was or will be is right here."

"Ah, isn't that wonderful?" Felix smiled. "I love it in here. You mean there's no surprise in here or anything?"

"Nope. We know everything," Blaze replied matter-of-factly.

"Oh, that's just gorgeous," Felix sighed dreamily. "The clouds, the birds, the grass, the air."

"Heaven is a lovely place," Blaze sang.

"Yeah, so no surprises huh? Say, would you like to dance? You mean if I'm waiting for an inside straight up here I'd know in advance when I felt it?" Felix sang.

"We know how it all turns out," Blaze stated as the two had just started dancing.

"You must of studied dancing. You have natural rhythm, unusual for a cat," Felix stated.

"Ah, I'm getting dizzy," Blaze marveled as Felix gently twirled her about.

"Everything is so beautiful here. So planned, so ordered. And that's what's driving me crazy," Felix sang. "I need Brazil, the throb, the thrill I've never been there, but someday I will adventure and danger, love from a stranger. Let me be surprised."

With that, he ditched Blaze and started floating for the watch that Blaze had presented to him earlier, prior to catching it.

"Today the sun, they said there'd be snow when all said and done, it's fun not to know what keeps my heart humming is guessing what's coming. Let me be surprised," Felix kept on singing. "Oh, ain't it great?"

"Oh ain't it great," Blaze sang as she showed up, out of nowhere, prior to snatching said watch from Felix and tossing it away. "When fate lets you wait."

"The world seems mirthless, you feel worthless and suddenly there's a big fish on your plate," Felix sang as he floated after Blaze only to get sucked in with her together and then land on the pile of other watches.

"Oh, Felix, please remember down there's a world of used cars," Blaze added as the two floated away from the pile of watches and then landed on a huge cloud only to watch shooting stars, only for Felix to snatch the watch from her and hide it behind his back.

"And single bars, broken dreams and not every star but it isn't over, not for this feline. I don't like to steal, but I don't buy this deal in about three seconds, she will have realized and she's gonna be --" Felix sang as he and Blaze soared through the sky...prior to winding the watch.

"Felix, what are you doing?" Blaze interrupted as he started winding the watch.

"Wait, you'll see," Felix chuckled while winding the watch.

"What do you have behind your back?" Blaze demanded, completely suspicious of what Felix was doing.

"She's gonna' be --" Felix sang while still winding the watch.

"Don't wind the watch, Felix," Blaze barked.

"Surprised!" Felix sang while ignoring her warnings...and with that, he had finally succeeded in winding the watch, causing it to glow a white light.

"FELIX!!!"

Uh-oh! Now that Felix had succeeded in winding the watch that had been his life (according to Blaze), what will happen next? Will he be sent back on earth and return from the dead or not? Will he be able to avenge his death at the hands of Pete? Read on and stay tuned.
This is finally my fifth chapter of All Cats Go to Heaven. In this chapter, Felix wakes up in heaven only to find Blaze "welcoming him to the dead", only to distract her and wind his life watch, hoping to be sent back to earth and return from the dead. I only accept constructive criticisms only, no mindless flames allowed! BTW, I'm sorry for the long hiatus from this story. Anyway, enjoy!

Felix the Cat belongs to Otto Messmer, Pat Sullivan and Fleischer Studios.

Blaze the Cat belongs to Sega and Sonic Team.
